Vision for the Future
“What if...”
On the Sunday 13th February 2011, in his “Vision for the Church” sermon, Chris Lane asked the question “What if... What if God has more for us? What if this is only the beginning? What if everything that has gone before, has just been to prepare us for what God has in mind for us in the future?”
Church Planting...
Of course, we are on record as wanting to plant another 12 churches by 2020. Then there’s the satellite church model that we’re continuing to explore. But what if God hasn’t finished with us here in St Albans yet? What if He was calling us to develop the site still further? What if He had a Family Life centre in mind? A greatly enhanced and developed “Feed” ministry? A youth centre perhaps? What if?...
Daydreaming...
Chris said that he was just “day dreaming” really– albeit with a bit of a twinkle in his eye! But something stirred in us, and within minutes a number of people had pledged money which together exceeded £20,000! It certainly set us talking, thinking and above all praying! Then people started coming forward with their own dreams and visions which seemed to suggest that this might me more than just a day dream, because God had been speaking to them too!
