We want to see souls ignited with passion, living life to the full, going after God's purpose and looking to trust and depend on God. We want to remind this generation that there is freedom through Jesus.
We're passionate about seeing our youth enjoy their lives and develop healthy relationships with one another and the world. Our young people are a significant part of the Vineyard. We especially thank God for the amazing things He’s doing in and among our growing youth ministry - we now have over 120 youth on our books! We believe the youth aren't tomorrow's leaders - they're today's. With young people facing so many challenges in our contemporary world, it’s essential for us to provide a place where they can ‘do life’ together.
'Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand!' Galatians 5v1
SUNDAY YOUTH SERVICES
On a Sunday we love that we can join the whole church in worship, so we'll head into the main auditorium (we usually all sit on the right side). Afterwards we head out for our own programs for different age groups:
11-12 (School Years 6-7) FUSE / NANO meet in room 203
12-14 (School Years 8-9) meet in room 201
15-18 (School Years 10-13) meet in room 202
'Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.' Psalm 71v17
We'll make every effort to help you find your way here and feel at home.
We know it's not easy going anywhere for the first time. So, when you arrive at church, look for our Youth Pastor Kev or any of our youth team in red t-shirts - they'll welcome you, answer any questions you might have, and get you headed in the right direction.
'Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.' Romans 12 v 1&2
During the week we run Connect Groups for Youth
May - Aug we take a break from connect groups due to exams and the summer holidays.
Tuesdays (school years 8-13) - we meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month 7-9pm, at The Vineyard Church. We will worship together and then break down into smaller connect groups (divided by age and gender) to learn about Jesus, working out what it means to be part of the Kingdom of God! Whatever you come along to, there're a place where you can be yourself and make friends. We’d love you to join us so please do try us out!
Wednesdays (school years 11-13) - we meets the 1st, 3rd and 5th (when there is one!) Wednesdays of each month 7.15-9.30, at Jon and Emma Day's home in Newark. The evening usually involves some social time and a game, Bible study and prayer.
Laser Quasar, cinema trips, games nights, karaoke, ice skating, and Come Dine With Me competitions are just some of the Friday nights activities we run at Youth. School years 6-8 (Youth Nano) will meet 6-7.30pm and School year 9+ will meet from 8-10pm These are energetic and fun evenings, perfect for you to meet others and a great opportunity for you to bring along your friends.
SOUL SURVIVOR 2017
Fri 25th - WED 30th AUGUST
Every summer we gather with thousands of other youth to worship God, learn what it means to live for Jesus in every area of our lives, to pray for one another, and to have loads of fun! The festival lasts for five days and has two main meetings a day, plus seminars and lots of great venues so you can hang out with your mates over a hot chocolate mountain, work up a sweat in the sports venue, watch a movie, or enjoy some live music. We also have some brilliant pop-up community events so don’t miss out on all the fun – come and join us!
Take advantage of our Early Bird Saver and book before 31st Jan!
We have an uber fun & creative Youth Team. If you're interested in getting involved in whatever capacity then let us know.
"We've been working through alpha, and Sunday's session was all about why and how do we pray. At the end of the session we all gathered and prayed for each other. 8 of the youth that got prayer for physical healing were healed, they then went on to pray for the adult congregation. The youth knew that I was going to hospital today for a surgical consultation to talk about my upcoming knee surgery, so they prayed for me also. During the appointment today it became apparent that my knee was in fact healed! I no longer needed the surgery to fix it and the surgeon had no idea what had happened, all he knew was that my knee was now fine. I'm so excited about what God is doing in the youth and in the church. So excited to see what's going to happen next!" James, Youth Team
