We have a number of different pastoral courses and ministries available for help in everyday life. Whatever you are going through or whichever stage of life you are in. We take relationships and pastoral care seriously and want to ensure that you are fully supported here.

// A strong, loving and lifelong relationship doesn’t happen by chance. It takes making intentional decisions and dedication to keep the fun and romance alive. We want to help enable couples to build a strong and intimate relationship based on effective communication, love and respect. //

These evenings are designed to be informal and fun gatherings that address particular topics that all couples can relate to - whether you're struggling or have enjoyed a number of years happy married. These are a general conversation starter between you and your partner, and perhaps your friends - rather than any kind of group counselling. You won’t be asked to participate in any group work or discussion at these evenings.

Couple's Valentine Meal

Married couples are invited to join us for a special two-course Valentine’s supper this February! As part of a relaxed, fun evening together we’ll be looking at practical ways to boost love, friendship, intimacy and sex in our marriages. We’ll hear from couples about their experiences, and give you the opportunity to ask anonymous questions.

Sat 10th feb, 8pm-10pm

We usually run some short-term Connect Groups after each marriage event. These involve 5 sessions that each address particular topics that arise from each season's marriage event in more depth. Please note that there's no pressure to join one of these short Connect Groups after the movie evening. Similarly, couples who haven't been to the movie night can join these short term Connect Groups.

Register your interest in joining one of the Marriage Connect Groups by contacting Marna on 01727 812765 or by email.

The Pre-Marriage course is ideal for any couple engaged or seriously considering marriage.

Each evening begins with a home cooked dinner. You'll be able to meet other couples, compare wedding plans, or just take a bit of time to unwind from the day. Throughout the course you'll look at a range of topics that you'll come across in your married life, such as, managing finances, resolving differences, conflict, commitment, communication and the extended family.

You'll hear from couples who've completed the course, explaining some of challenges they've faced in their marriage and the ways they've resolved these. Don't worry, you'll only be asked to discuss topics between yourself and your partner; there is no 'group sharing' in this course. It's based on Christian ethics and values, but is suitable for anyone - with or without a Christian faith or church background. It is one of a number of courses developed by Relationship Central.

Are you engaged? Then make sure you book onto the next Pre-Marriage Course!
We ask for you to pay £40 to help us cover costs.

Mondays 7.30pm-10pm
Starting 5th Feb 2018

Read the Guardian Newspaper's interview with Nicky & Sila about the success of the Marriage Course here. You can find out more about about Relationship Central here.

The Bible tells us that Jesus promised us life to the full. Yes despite our best efforts, some of us don’t feel like we are experiencing this. We struggle with serious doubts about our own worth, fighting very real disappointments, and it can feel like we’re simply surviving rather than living. It may be a challenge for some of us to own up that we are not doing as well as we may present to the world, and take a bit of courage to confess that we may struggle with certain issues and behaviours.

What is Restore?

Restore is a ministry providing an opportunity for men and women to address personal issues in a safe and confidential environment. Restore offers a place for us to uncover habitual deceptions we’ve believed about ourselves, other people and about God’s character. The course comprises of 10 sessions addressing, specifically, our relationships with our parents, our siblings and our peers. Restore aims to teach you how to use the tools you need to actively rely on Jesus and how to access healing from wounds and disappointments you may have experienced. Many people who’ve been on the course have experienced a level of transformation, enabling them to move into deeper, healthier relationships with God, themselves and others.

How does it work?

Each evening starts with a short time of worship. A member of the church will then speak about a particular topic being addressed that evening; we'll then break into smaller groups of 3-4 along with 2 pastoral team. Each person is prayed for by their group's pastoral team, and encouraged to engage in prayer themselves. This course is heavily reliant on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and should be regarded as an opportunity for the individual to engage with the Holy Spirit themselves rather than prayer ministry from someone else.
Please note that this course should not be regarded as an alternative for counseling or other mental health treatment.

Next Running?

The next Restore course begins on 25th April 2018 (and runs for 10 weeks). You'll need to sign up through the online payment page (we charge a £60 course fee to help us to cover your Restore literature & our running costs), and also complete an application form before 23rd March 2018.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10v10

Specifically designed for people who have experienced relationship breakdown

Issues covered range from legal advice, managing family relationships, to forming good communication skills with your ex partner. The course establishes a no-pressure environment where individuals can contribute as little or as much as they want, there's opportunity to ask questions and discuss everything in groups. The course is run by people who themselves have gone through divorce and separation, so you can rest assured you'll be met with an empathetic and non-judgmental attitude.

It's a 6 session course held over one evening a week. Each evening will begin with a home cooked dinner where you'll be able to get to know other people on the course and the facilitators. We charge £40 per person to help us cover costs, but there are concessions available so please don't let finances stop you from joining - just get in touch. If you have any questions or want to find out more please email our Pastoral Team or call the church office on 01727 812765.

Prayer is one of the foundations of the Church. We understand that God's ears are open to our prayers and He is ready and willing to respond.

Join us before the services on a Sunday morning to pray for the church and practice using those 'spiritual gifts' the Bible talks about. Meet us in the downstairs lounge between 9-9.30am every Sunday.

There is a trained prayer team available every Sunday to pray, so whether you need prayer for something specific or just a blessing, please ask. You'll find the team next to the main stage after the service.

We also have an amazing pastoral team (including qualified counsellors) who can offer a bit more experience, prayer and help to people in the church if you feel you may need it. We readily recommend the Restore Course. Please do talk to one of our Pastoral Team, if you'd like to know more and could do with a bit more help.

Praying together as a church body is foundation. Join us for an hour of prayer & worship each month at Breakthrough.

We wholeheartedly believe that God heals today, and believe these instances are signs of Jesus' work of redemption and restoration establishing itself in Creation. PrayerNet is an email-based ministry which sends out emergency prayer requests for Vineyard members' health situations. So you can pray when and wherever you are when you read these!
