Vineyard Introductions

If you'd like to find out more about us as a church, connect here and work out how you can get more involved, we recommend you come along to Vineyard Introductions.

These 6 evenings will give you a good grounding of where we come from, our core beliefs and values, and our vision for the future. You'll learn how we use the 'Kingdom of God' that Jesus so often talked about, as a lens to look at the world; explaining how that impacts and informs the way we read the Bible - including 'spiritual gifts', the way we pray over people for healing, the way we choose to live and the way we care and serve the community. It will also provide you with a great opportunity to connect with the team here, meet our Senior Pastors Chris & Fliss Lane, as well as other people from the church including other newcomers.

The whole course will take place over 6 Tuesday evenings (12th, 19th, 26th Sep, 3rd, 10th, 17th Oct) and is completely free. So book your place today and we'll look forward to seeing you there!

Newcomer Pub Lunch

We look forward to welcoming newcomers and visitors at our monthly pub lunch. It's a really easy way to connect with others from the church and meet some new faces.

These usually happen once a month when a few of us head down to a local family friendly pub after church finishes (more often than not the Speckled Hen). Meet our friendly hosts at the welcome desk (in the atrium cafe by the large glass doors) after the 11.30am service (about 1pm).

Because these lunches tend to be popular events, we need to book numbers with the pub the week before so book now or check if there's space left on Sunday morning at church!

Over a hundred women usually make their way to each season's Conversation cafe. We'll be bringing you more interviews with everyday women describing how their own experience of knowing Jesus has impacted them in their day to day lives. No preaching, no bible bashing, no altar calls - just women telling their own personal stories.

The Conversation makes for a great social evening. With delicious wine, impressive desserts & live music at just £4 a ticket, it's hugely popular - so do invite your friends to meet you for a night out.

Church Picnic

Join us for a church picnic this summer! The picnic is penciled for Sunday 7th August - but this is dependent on the British weather! If the heavens open then we'll simply postpone to the following Sunday. We'll announce weather the picnic is going ahead from the front of church on Sunday 7th.

If the sun is shining then we will head down to Verulamium Park (St Albans) straight after the 11.30am service. Bring whatever you want to eat and drink, something to sit on, perhaps a footie or a game. We’ll be sitting next to the volleyball courts - so come and join in if you want to play! Everyone is welcome so please invite your friends to come along.

Alpha

Alpha

The Alpha Course provides a unique opportunity for you to discuss and explore Christianity and life's big questions in an informal, fun and friendly environment. Whether you're an atheist or have never considered any kind of spiritual existence, Alpha is a place where you can find out more about Jesus and ask questions in an open and safe environment.

The next Alpha Course will start on 25th January and run over 10 Monday evenings. Each evening will begin with a cooked dinner where you can meet and get to know others who've joined the course. After that, there's a short easy-to-listen-to talk addressing a particular question relating to faith, religion, spirituality and life. It's not meant to be treated as a lecture but more as an opportunity for you to explore what you really think. After the talk we break into smaller discussion groups over coffee & cake. It's the perfect time for you to share your thoughts about what's been discussed that evening.

THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE A SPACE WHERE YOU CAN ASK YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT JESUS, ABOUT CHRISTIANITY, THE CHURCH AND BIBLE - SO DON'T BE SHY!

You can expect a warm welcome each evening. Whether you're by yourself or coming with friends, we'll do our best to make you feel right at home. Lots of people want to try out the first evening before they commit to the whole course - which you are very welcome to do. The entire course, including dinner, is completely free.

Sign up to the 2016 Alpha HERE.
